Outreach Centre’s Talk Show on ‘Dairy Animal Feeds and Feeding’ at Kass FM

On 12th June, 2025, the OC was hosted by Ms. Winny Rutto (Koriryo), son a one-hour talk show on Dairy Animal Feeds and Feeding at KASS FM Studios. The main speaker, Ms. Monicah Yator, an Animal Scientist from the Department of Animal Science, University of Eldoret, provided an in-depth analysis of the different types of feeds essential for dairy production. She categorized feeds into grasses, legumes, and concentrates, explaining their nutritional roles in promoting milk yield and overall animal health. Ms.

University of Eldoret Signs Strategic LOI with World Food Programme

The University of Eldoret has formally embarked on a strategic collaboration with the World Food Programme (WFP) through the signing of a Letter of Intent (LOI), designed to fortify and advance agriculture, enhance food security, and foster community development in Kenya and the surrounding region. This significant occasion took place on June 10th, 2025, at the University’s main campus.

Productivity Mainstreaming Workshop

The University of Eldoret, through its Productivity Mainstreaming Committee and the Directorate of Strategic Planning & Performance Contracting, held a successful two-day workshop on Productivity Management Framework and Data Collection from 12th to 13th June 2025.

Facilitated by experts from the National Productivity and Competitiveness Centre (NPCC), the workshop aimed to equip staff with knowledge on measuring productivity using UoE’s customized metrics. The productivity baseline index developed will be tracked annually to support continuous improvement.

World Environmental Day, June 5th, 2025, “Putting an end to Plastic Pollution.”

Members of the University staff and students, led by Prof. Godfrey Netondo (Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic and Student Affairs'), along with the University Management Board, Directors and Deans of Schools planted trees at the University Arboretum to commemorate the World Environmental Day 2025.

Prof. Bekuta Balozi from the School of Environmental Sciences and Natural Resource Management shared his expertise with the participants, demonstrating the most effective practices for the careful management and planting of seedlings to ensure their optimal growth and vitality.
