Open Day for The System Changer Network (SCN)

On Tuesday, 30th September 2025, the Outreach Centre of the University of Eldoret, represented by Dr. Heka Kamau, participated in an open day for the System Changer Network (SCN) at the Olukulu Guest House, Webuye. The theme was to explore the "Power of collaboration in driving sustainable development in Kenya." There was a panel discussion on how multi-sector networks can be mobilized for holistic community transformation.

University of Eldoret Marks The 2025 International Microorganisms’ Day

International Microorganisms Day is a worldwide event to promote the diversity and variety of microorganisms. It is a way to encourage everyone to recognize and celebrate the many ways microscopic organisms are important in human health, culture, economic activity, employment, and, throughout our daily lives. This year, the Department of Biological Sciences, with the generous support of the American Society for Microbiology (ASM) marked the day on 19th September 2025 at the University Eldoret Grounds to educate the public about the importance of microbes and microbiology in human welfare.

Millennium Fellowship Class of 2025

The University of Eldoret, United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI), and MCN (Millennium Campus Network) are proud to present the Millennium Fellowship Class of 2025, an ambitious program to help make the Sustainable Development Goals and UNAI principles a reality.  Millennium Fellows were selected from a record-breaking 60,396 applicants to join the Class of 2025, hailing from 290+ universities worldwide.  The Class of 2025 consists of 4,000+ driven undergraduates at 280+ universities in 48 nations. 

UoE's Lawrence Mwangi Awarded Prestigious African Union Scholarship

The University of Eldoret celebrates Lawrence Mwangi Kairegi, the 2024 Valedictorian from Mechanical Engineering, for receiving a fully funded African Union Scholarship—awarded to only one top student per country.

Lawrence is now pursuing an MSc in Mechatronics Engineering, specializing in robotics. His research focuses on AI-Powered Human-Robot Collaboration using a context-aware deep learning framework in virtual reality.

UoE Alumni Judy Mwende Mutunga Proposed as a 2025 National Heroine

The University of Eldoret celebrates alumna Judy Mwende Mutunga (Family & Consumer Science, Class of 2021), who has been proposed as a 2025 National Heroine.

As Founder/CEO of Ustawi Foods, Judy fights malnutrition by producing organic flours from indigenous crops like amaranth and millet. Her work also trains farmers in organic methods and reduces food waste.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Thomas Cheruiyot stated: "Your journey shows UoE is truly a Flame of Knowledge and Innovation."

University of Eldoret & RUFORUM Strengthen Collaboration to Accelerate Delivery Under TAGDev 2.0

The University of Eldoret Management Board hosted the Regional Universities Forum for Capacity Building in Agriculture (RUFORUM) for a three-day high-level engagement under the Transforming African Agricultural Universities to Meaningfully Contribute to Africa’s Growth and Development (TAGDev 2.0) program, from September 17–19, 2025.

18th Agribusiness Trade Fair 2025

The University of Eldoret successfully hosted the 18th Agribusiness Trade Fair (ABTF) from 11th–13th September 2025, bringing together sponsors, exhibitors, farmers, staff, students, and other key stakeholders in the agricultural sector.

Held under the theme “Promoting Climate-Smart Innovations and Agri-preneurship to Spur Industrialization for Sustainable Development,” the trade fair served as a vibrant platform for learning, knowledge exchange, and showcasing cutting-edge innovations in agribusiness.
