It is abundantly clear that the triumph of our female athletes is intricately linked to the availability of discerning role models of the same gender, who play an indispensable role in guiding them on their journey. This was precisely exemplified at the coaching camp in Miramas, France, where Mayor Frederick Vigouroux graciously welcomed a contingent of coaches from Elgeyo Marakwet to enhance their proficiency. This initiative was undertaken in partnership with the County Government of Elgeyo Marakwet under the stewardship of Governor Wisley Rotich.

The awarding ceremony of the UoE-ARG Cohort 9 research grants was held on 17th April, 2025 at the University. The  Vice-Chancellor Prof. Thomas Cheruiyot presided over the awarding ceremony. The University of Eldoret, Kenya, under the auspices and support of the Society for Molecular Biology and Evolution (SMBE) will host the SMBE Regional Symposium on Evolutionary Genomics in Agriculture, Environment, Biodiversity conservation and Health 2025, in Eldoret.  Evolutionary genomics is important in addressing critical questions and providing tools and strategies in agricultural production, natural resource management and biodiversity conservation, because of their power, accuracy and applicability, supported by advanced analytical and computational platforms.

On the sidelines of the RAAs Conference, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Thomas Cheruiyot was honoured with a courtesy visit from Dr. Juma Mukwana, the Principal Secretary for the State Department of Industry in the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry. They engaged in a fruitful discussion regarding various avenues for collaboration and partnership that could substantially benefit the University through advancements in education, research, infrastructure, and technological development.

University of Eldoret is hosting the 2^nd Annual Regulatory Authorities and Agencies conference between April 28th to 30^th, 2025, bringing together Principal Secretaries of various ministries, Board Chairs and members, Chief Executive Officers and Managing Directors from the 127 regulatory authorities and agencies and senior government officials.

6th Annual Innovation Week And Public Lecture

Ms. Lindah Laboso, our recently appointed member of the University Council representing the Principal Secretary, State Department for Higher Education and Research, Ministry of Education, was hosted for a guided tour of both the Main Campus and the Eldoret Town Campus by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Planning, Research and Extension), Prof. Philip Raburu. This excursion formed an integral part of her induction programme designed to familiarize her with the operational domains of the University.

The Swearing In Ceremony of the 12^th Students’ Council took place on Friday 4th April, 2025. The ceremony was presided over by Mr. Steven Anditi, the University Senior Legal Officer. A total of 27 newly elected School Representatives and 7 (seven) members of the Students’ Council were sworn in.
