Directorate of Information and Communication Technology

In the last few years the university has made major investments in the ICT Directorate which have in turn resulted in great improvements in the quality of service delivery. These have been guided largely by the Directorate’s five year strategic plan and also the ICT policies. In line with this, the Directorate has continued to offer trainings to equip staff with various ICT skills.

Board of Postgraduate Studies

The Board of Postgraduate Studies is responsible for the coordination of delivery of the postgraduate syllabi and their regulation, admission of postgraduate students, administration of postgraduate scholarships and research grants, administration and processing of postgraduate theses, projects or research papers, proper conduct and supervision of postgraduate study programmes, verification of final list of postgraduate degree awards and the general welfare and discipline of postgraduate students.

Directorate of Research and Innovation

About the Directorate

The Directorate of Research and Innovation at the University of Eldoret is housed under the Planning Research and Extension Division. The Directorate is responsible for the realization of all research and innovation performance of the University. As a unit, we are mandated to handle and oversee all research activities and innovative technologies undertaken at the university.

Directorate of Industrial Linkages, Partnerships and Collaborations

The Directorate of Industrial Linkages, Partnerships, and Collaborations (ILPC) main objective is to promote linkages, Partnerships, and Collaborations with Industry, Research Institutions, and Institutions of Higher Learning, for purposes of advancing mutual interests, shared goals, ideas, and information, which is achieved through increased bilateral and multilateral agreements/ Memorandum of Understandings (MOUs) tailored towards working together to achieve the goals of vision 2030.

Directorate of Resource Mobilization and Strategic Initiatives

Financial resources and human capital are core to the achievement of institutional performance targets. Efficiency is basically, dependent on how physical infrastructure, financial resources, and human capital - are deployed within an organization. However, the rapid expansion of university education in Kenya exerts immense pressure on government funding. The realities in the past two decades, point to manifestly overstretched faculty, inadequate teaching facilities, and diminished research portfolio hence a felt need to diversify income sources to the University.

Directorate of Open, Distance and e-Learning (ODeL)

The Directorate of Open, Distance and e-Learning was formed in July 2020 out of the realization that there is a need to enrich and broaden the learning experience of all students within the University. This has also been driven largely by the desire of the University to establish alternative and innovative opportunities to complement the face-to-face teaching and learning methods. The Directorate works with all Schools to enable them to deliver teaching and learning to all students within the University.

Income Generation Units (IGU) Directorate

The University of Eldoret has increased in size of its operations since its inception in 2013. For these operations to run smoothly, adequate finances are needed. However, government funding is subject to many factors, which have led to a decline in capitation. As a consequence, the university has embarked on a strategic objective to strengthen resource mobilization and utilization by improving liquidity ratios. The IGU Directorate, therefore, has been established to supplement the university's financial base and bridge the budgetary deficit.

Directorate of Strategic Planning and Performance Contracting

The Directorate of Strategic Planning and Performance Contracting (SPPC) is mandated to facilitate the University's strategy, through a Strategic Plan and Performance Contracting. The Directorate operates by leading the formulation and execution of planned activities, with guidance from Article 10 (4) of The Public Service Commission (Performance Management) Regulations, 2021. 

Directorate of Quality Assurance

The Directorate of Quality Assurance (DRQA) is one of the six directorates that were established after we were chartered in February 2013, this was upon the recognition of the importance of Quality Assurance in Higher Education.

The Directorate was established to perform the following functions as per the University of Eldoret Statute XXVII:
