The Parliament Departmental Committee on Education and Research led by the Vice-Chairperson, Hon. Moses Injendi Malulu, conducted a significant visit to the University on Wednesday 3rd April, 2024 marking a pivotal moment for both the institution and the legislative body. During the visit, our Council Member, Hon. David Koech (Chair of the Finance, Planning, Resource Mobilization and General Purposes Committee) and the University Management under the able stewardship of our Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Thomas Cheruiyot, showcased their commitment to transparency and collaboration by providing comprehensive oral submissions, presenting detailed written briefs and conducting an insightful tour of the university’s facilities. This engagement not only fostered dialogue and mutual understanding but also highlighted the university’s dedication to excellence in education and its role in shaping the future of the nation.

The Members of Parliament who accompanied the Vice-Chairperson were Hon. Prof. Phylis Bartoo (MP. Moiben), Hon. Timothy Toroitch (MP, Marakwet East), Hon. Eve Obara (MP, Kabondo Kasipul), Hon. Dick M. Oyugi (MP, Luanda), Hon Nabwera Nabii (MP, Lugari) and Hon. Clive Ombane (MP, Kitutu Masaba). 

The members of the University Management present were Prof. Beatrice Were (Ag. Deputy Vice-Chancellor – Academic & Students’ Affairs), Prof. Philip Raburu (Deputy Vice-Chancellor-Planning, Research and Extension), Prof. Wilson Ng’etich (Deputy Vice-Chancellor-Administration and Finance), Prof. Paul Tarus (Registrar-Academics), Dr. Benjamin Mwasi (Registrar-Planning), Dr. Francis Ekapel (Ag.
