University Staff Competitively Selected for The Academic and Research Fellowships for International Relations (IR) Experts (Interussia Research Fellowship)

Dr. Peter Kirui of the Department of Humanities, School of Arts and Human Development has been competitively selected for the prestigious InteRussia Spring Fellowship taking place at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO) University of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation between 17th March 2024 and 28th April, 2024. Dr. Kirui is a seasoned lecturer who teaches History, Governance and Political Studies at University of Eldoret and is the immediate Head of Humanities Department.

InteRussia is an opportunity for aspiring experts in history, theory and practice of international relations, political science and area studies to get fully immersed in Russian academia, visit policy-making institutions, participate in expert sessions hosted by universities, think tanks and non-governmental organisations. The unique feature of the programme is that the selected participants will be able to work in close contact with and under the academic guidance of leading Russian IR scholars from MGIMO University.

The mission of the programme is to build a horizontal network of rising scholars from around the globe to foster fruitful academic dialogue on emerging IR perspectives in an increasingly multipolar world.

The participation of Dr. Kirui in the fellowship therefore opens new opportunities for collaborations, partnerships and network between University of Eldoret and other external actors in Eurasia and is a demonstration of the quality of staff at University of Eldoret who can compete at the global stage.
