To enhance further our engagement as per our partnership with VIVES University from Belgium, the University in collaboration with the Directorate of Industrial Linkages, Partnerships and Collaboration and the Directorate of Research and Innovation played host to a delegation from VIVES University comprising Dr. Ir. Isabel Vanslembrouck; Director of Research and Valorisation and Mr. Evert Cottyn the International Coordinator for Technology on 6th December 2023. The visit was tailored towards advancing collaborative discussions towards contributing to the advancement of our partnership and carrying out a seminar.

The visitors were officially received at the office of the Vice-Chancellor before being brought to the School of Education Conference Room 1 where the seminar was to be conducted. The seminar was officially opened by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Planning Research and Extension Prof. Phillip Raburu. In his remarks, Prof. Raburu was categorical in appreciating the delegation from VIVES University for being at the forefront in actualizing the agreement as per the signed Memorandum of Understanding. He called upon the participants present to take heed of the presentations and also to be free to ask as many questions as possible for purposes of opening their horizons for the imminent benefits that the agreement is going to bring.

The seminar saw a presentation on Research Canvas (Methodology for Research) and Circular Economy and Sustainability by Dr. Vanslembrouck and areas for mutual collaborations, and the variety of facilities and courses offered at VIVES University by Mr. Cottyn.

The seminar brought on board participants comprising of Post Graduate students, School Research and Extension Committee members, Heads of Departments, and staff.
