After a rigorous series of inspections done by the Commission of Higher Education (CUE), we passed the test. The CUE accreditation journey started in July 2015 when the first submission was placed. In September 2015 the first inspection was made. There were issues raised by the CUE team based on feedback that the UoE team received. The CUE team visited once again in March 2016. We met the full requirements. The UoE Town Campus has now received full accreditation. (letter attached)
Over the years Kenya has experienced an expansion in the demand for higher education. University of Eldoret is no exception to this. The University has experienced growth and demand for new and user friendly programs.
The University of Eldoret Town campus was established and became operational in January 2014. It is located in MUSCO Towers in Eldoret town, the UoE Town Campus has all the facilities important to providing quality education to students ranging from lecture halls, libraries, health clinic, computer lab, examination room, a boardroom / conference room that can host 100 people at one sitting (theatre style) and a students’ recreation room. The students in town campus use laboratories and the farm at UoE main campus for practicals.
The campus offers courses from the following schools: Agriculture and Biotechnology, Business and Management Sciences, Economics, Education, Environmental Studies and Human Resource Development. The mode of delivery is full time and part time.
Whereas the Town campus has some facilities exclusive to it, students in the campus have full access to facilities in the main campus. This includes the library, laboratories, sports facilities among others. The close proximity of the Town campus to the main campus and the availability of buses for transportation has made sharing of facilities very easy.
