Prof. Samuel Lutta is an associate professor of Chemistry and holds PhD in inorganic chemistry. He is a subject expert in inorganic chemistry, material science and environmental chemistry.
He joined University of Eldoret in 1999 when it was campus of Moi University as a tutorial fellow and rose through the various academic ranks before becoming an associate professor in 2015.
Prof. Lutta is also a researcher and has attended several conferences and published over 20 articles in refereed journals. His areas of research interest are inorganic chemistry, material science and environmental chemistry.
He has supervised over 20 postgraduate students and examined over 30 theses. He is also an external examiner of three Universities.
Prof. Lutta has also participated in other administrative activities in the University having been the University Time-tabler and a member of various adhoc committees that developed University policies.
As a new dean of school of science his major goal is to show academic leadership and to ensure improved quality teaching and research and time bound deliverables.
