As Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), University of Eldoret (UoE) handed over a 10,000 litre water tank to University of Eldoret ECDE section. The Ceremony which took place on Friday, 19th June, 2020 was led by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Planning, Research & Extension) Prof. Phillip Raburu representing the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Tesresa Akenga.
This was in honoring the request that had been put forward to the University by the area MCA, Hon. Saral Malel. She thanked the University profoundly, stating that the University had in several occasions supported the needs of the communities neighboring her. She declared that the tank would come in handy in facilitating the hand washing of the children, once the schools reopen, especially now when the country is fighting with the Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19) pandemic.
The Ceremony was graced by Rev. Michael Kangogo, the Chair, Board of Management and Mr. Musa Chepkurui, the Chair, Parents Association, UoE Primary School. Also in attendance were Mrs. Immaculate Madegwa, Head Teacher, and Ms. Grace Owendi, ECDE Teacher both of UoE Primary school. The handover ceremony was also witnessed by members of the University including; the Ms. Emmy Mutai, Senior Procurement Officer, Dr. Wambui Ng’ang’a, Ag. Corporate Affairs and Marketing Manager among others.
