University of Eldoret Youth Agribusiness Incubation Centre (YABIC Centre) -OISC
The ENABLE youth initiative, a 4-year project running up to 2022, is a comprehensive program that builds entrepreneurship in agribusiness through skill acquisition and creates an enabling environment in which young men and women become owners of profitable agribusinesses. The project is sponsored by the African Development Bank (AfDB) through the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries (MoALF) Development. The University of Eldoret through the Outreach and International Student Centre (OISC) was selected as one of the 8 national YABIC Centres. The YABICS provide facilities for training under identified value chains that are specific to the institution. The value chains identified for UOE YABIC are: Animal/Dairy Production, Fisheries and Mushroom Production. Training providers will work with the YABICS and the focal persons and the YABICs will provide both human and physical resources.
