Biography
Dr. Oliver Kipchoge Kiplagat, PhD in Plant Breeding- Wageningen University and Research Centre, the Netherlands, M.Sc. Plant Breeding (University of Alberta Canada), BSc. Agriculture (University of Nairobi).
Dr. Kiplagat is a senior lecturer at the School of Agriculture and Biotechnology, Department of Biotechnology. He has served at University of Eldoret since 2006 as a lecturer and researcher in the areas of agriculture and Biotechnology. He has also participated in the development of the BSc. Agricultural Biotechnology and MSc. Plant Breeding and Biotechnology programmes that are currently running in the Department of Biotechnology. He has also participated in the development of the VLIR project funded by the Belgium government as a member of the AGBIO team.
Dr. Kiplagat is an accomplish scholar and researcher, and has supervised numerous undergraduates and postgraduates students. He has reviewed and published various manuscripts for a number of local and international journals He is also an Internal/External Examiner.
As Ag. Dean in the School of Agriculture and Biotechnology, Dr. Kiplagat would like to steer ahead the achievements made by his predecessors to ensure that the School meet the global standards in production of qualified graduates and fast-tracking innovativeness to meet the University Vision, and Mission.
