Ford Motor Company Fund and Enactus Kenya have picked students from three Kenyan Universities to receive grants in support of their projects. Each University will receive Usd 1,000.
Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology, University of Eldoret and Maseno University are expected to use the grants in projects that advance community development including the provision of clean and safe water, poverty alleviation and agri-business.
The projects were selected as part of Enactus Ford College Community Challenge (C3) which promoted the emergence of innovative solutions that address needs of local communities. Alisea Chetty, Communications Manager, Ford Motor Company, Sub Saharan Africa, said the initiative seeks to build student capacity in social enterprise and community development.
World Youth Skills Day is observed on 15 July every year to deliberate on actionable solutions for youth unemployment by concentrating efforts on building skills.
