University of Eldoret hosted the members of the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK) for the accreditation visit on February 21st, 2018. This is one of the prerequisites towards the University receiving accreditation of the Engineering programs.
The EBK team was led by the Chairman, Eng. D.M. Wanjau. Accompanying him was Eng. (Prof) Francis J. Gecaga, Eng. Julius Riungu and Eng. Nicholas Musuni, the Registrar / CEO with fellow board members and members of the EBK secretariat. The UoE team was led by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Teresa Akenga, the University Management Board and the Ag. Dean, School of Engineering, Dr. Kollongei.
The EBK team, after the opening meeting held at the Council Boardroom, had an intensive full-day program. First meeting was with the Heads, Professors and Lecturers from the Civil & Structural Engineering, Mechanical & Production Engineering and Agricultural & Biosystems Engineering departments, where the engineering syllabi, training information and the faculty members were assessed This was followed by a visit to the Engineering Workshops, the Computer labs, the University library and the demonstration farm. In the afternoon, the team had a session with the Engineering students prior to having the closing meeting with the University Management Board and the Engineering faculty.
EBK is to release the accreditation visit report within the month of March 2018.
