The School of Environmental Sciences and Natural Resource Management came into operation/existence year (2022), as an outcome of the merger between the schools of Environmental Studies and Natural Resource Management.
The school specializes and undertakes Teaching Research, Consultancy, Outreach and Extension in the broad fields of Environmental Science and Natural Resource Management in Kenya and beyond.
The school prides itself in many qualified and experienced support, technical and academic staff. Many Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) have been signed by the University where our school is well covered and represented. Recently, our school hosted collaboration between Dutch institutions/University and University of Liberia in the Fields of water resources, livelihoods and Fisheries Management. The school recently participated in various fora including Regional Centre of Excellence (RCE) conference in Kenyatta University, World Wetland day, Africa Climate Summit conference – Nairobi and numerous tree planting activities across the country. The school also conducts a bi-annual training in Environmental Impact Assessment/Environmental and Social Impact Audit.
The school is in the process of developing a Centre of Excellence in Environmental and Natural Resource Management, Climate Change studies and Resource Based Conflict studies and Management.
