The third edition of Equity Week event was conducted smoothly on 25th October, 2018 at the University grounds. The event which was co-hosted by UoE together with Center for Innovation and Open Governance (CIOG) was aimed at addressing the second marginalized policy which will be used to identify and distribute the equalization fund.
The Equity week 2018 major objectives were dedicated towards addressing;
- Universal Health Care Coverage (UHC)
- Marginalization Policy and
- Urban Poverty
The event which was attended by over 177 people saw key dignitaries and participants from six counties of Elgeyo Marakwet, Uasin Gishu, Nandi, Baringo, West Pokot and Trans Nzoia. Likewise, key dissemination organization such as Taach FM, Hope FM, Chamgei FM, Sauti ya Mwananchi, Northrift Radio, Radio Mambo and Radio Citizen were also in attendance. Other governmental and non-governmental organization that graced the event included; Transparency International, International Budget Partners, Kenya, Nandi Civil Society Network, Commision for Revenue Allocation, Kenya Red Cross Society Elgeyo and Marakwet Country and Moi University.
In attendance were Elgeyo Marakwet County Eng. Hon. Alex Tolgos, Chairperson Commision for Revenue Allocation Dr. Jane Kiringai, CECMs from the six country, Representative of International Budget Partners Kenya Dr. Abraham Rugo, DVC ASA UoE Prof. Ruth Otunga and other UoE directors.
